The U.S. government is making a significant bet on the future of artificial intelligence in healthcare, committing $62.7 million to develop a new system for managing heart failure. The investment comes from the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H), a federal agency tasked with accelerating breakthroughs in medicine.
The goal is to build what’s known as an “agentic AI.” Unlike passive AI tools that simply analyze data, an agentic AI is designed to take a more active role in the care process.
